Dear brothers and sisters, there is nothing more important to demonstrate ones faith than the remembrance of Allah
() for indeed He has said:
'Therefore remember Me, I will remember you, and be grateful to Me, and reject not faith.'
(Surah Al Baqarah: 152)
There is nothing more excellent than remembrance of Allah through our daily duas. As muslims, we have been honoured and blessed with the Sunnah of the
Prophet () that contains so many beautiful, sincere and meaningful duas for every aspect of daily living. These duas are there to help shield and protect us from the evils of this world; from the whisperings and temptations of Shaitaan; and to strengthen our Eeman and make us closer to our Creator.
'And for men and women who engage much in Allah's remembrance, for them has Allah prepared forgiveness and great reward.'
(Surah Al Azhaab: 35).
Keeping our tongue moist through the remembrance of Allah
() should be part of our daily ritual as is brushing our teeth and eating our meals. Once we integrate daily duas into our life,
insha’Allah we can influence others to follow in this excellent habit, particularly our spouse and children as we know how little children like to imitate, and the best way to teach our children how to practise this beautiful religion of
Islam is by our own example. We strive to teach them about the fundamentals of our deen, but sometimes we overlook how crucial a part daily duas form in their lives. Our aim should be to slowly but gradually build their knowledge in this area and particularly from a young age, through implementing them ourselves, and gently reminding them of the duas when they forget, how to recite them and why. Eventually the daily duas will
insha’Allah become second nature to our children.
Please understand that there is no end to duas that one can make: they are extensive in numbers and variable in detail. Here we have simply selected the basic ones and the shortest from each topic in order to facilitate memorisation of them. We have provided two versions
of the posters: one is text alone and the other is the more child friendly one for families with children. We would like to suggest that you print them off and laminate them perhaps, then hang up where you can be prompted to recite them daily. Insha’Allah within no time they will be committed to memory. Furthermore, why not print off two copies and give one as a gift - just think of the reward multiplying for you as this is a form of sadaqah jaariyah, Insha’Allah.
May Allah () make it easy for you and your loved ones to remember Him through the most excellent manner of implementing the daily duas. May He guide you and assist you in continually memorising a selection of daily duas so that they form an important part of your life and enable you to reap the benefits from them in every possible way. Aameen.
